I don’t have a lot to say about the keynote from Monday’s PDC. The world is relying more and more on the internet, and Microsoft is now pushing that way as well. I found it interesting that Ray Ozzie (I believe) said that Azure is being built with the next 50 years in mind. The internet hasn’t been around for 20 years yet, and has evolved quite a bit since it’s inception, yet MS seems to think they can build an OS around it that will set the tone for the next 50 years? That seems a bit naive. Maybe I just misunderstood what he was trying to get at.<\/p>\n
Azure seems like it could be pretty cool. I’m saying the obvious when I say that it’s good they built it up around the .Net framework they already have in place. An app that I built sometime in the last year could pretty easily be ported to be cloud based, not that this would neccessarily be all that useful.<\/p>\n
